We knew the launch of MipiPlus in February would be popular, but we’ve had such a great response to the 7.84” size that we’re now adding the 7” (17.78 cm) screen size to our portfolio. Integrating MIPI display products can be a complex process, but our significant experience in the field has given plenty of customers confidence to partner with Avnet Displays for the journey.
This new product, in particular, has all the advantages of a wide form factor and MIPI DSI interface, as well as higher speed and greater functionality when compared to the standard RGB or LVDS interfaces.
Size and functionality make the 7” suitable for indoor usage such as handheld applications to regulate and control industrial machinery. A wall mounted home automation panel may be a use case, showing camera images from the door along with other house related data.
Its touch functionality is integrated in the module, and the 1.8 mm protective front glass with neutral black border print gives the display an attractive and sleek design. MipiPlus 7” can also be directly connected to many modern microcontrollers and microprocessors.

Frank Ploenissen - Marketing Manager Display Integration, Avnet at Avnet After getting his diploma in electrical engineering, Frank entered the world of display solution and distribution in the year 2000, holding product responsibility for several display and touch lines. Starting 2007 he worked as a sales and marketing manager for a design and manufacturing company of CCFL and LED backlight drivers, and afterwards established the German branch for a Austrian display and solution provider. In 2013, Frank joined former MSC which in turn was bought by Avnet.
