Facing increasing cost pressure in the booming solar inverter market, the customer challenged us to identify further cost-saving opportunities. Rather than defending the existing design, Avnet and our supplier proactively developed a completely new display platform. Following an earlier EOL-driven transition from the UMSH-9136ED-4F to the UMSH-9136ED-5F, the team introduced the next-generation UMSH-9678ED-F, resulting from a manufacturing and supply chain transfer from Taiwan to China. The solution delivered significant cost savings while maintaining functionality and qualification status, enabling the customer to reduce system costs and allowing us to successfully defend the business against competitors.
