The customer used a 5” in-cell TFT from different provider which is EOL now. They needed a drop-in replacement with no need for soft- or hardware change and fitting into their slim housing. Our team suggested a regular TFT with PCAP and one of our suppliers was able to realize the corresponding super slim solution with the same touch driver in a very short time.
The Challenge
- The original supply had an EOL touch driver
- Regular 5” HD color replacements were too thick to fit due to design limitations

- Custom backlight & FPC
- Optical bonded custom PCAP with required Focaltech 7311 IC
- Tape at back side of the cover glass
