During the running series with a monochrome LCD from Avnet, the customer started research for a first color TFT on their meters. Over a period of two to three years, they assessed different resolutions, sizes, and specifications, while comparing pricing from both distributors and direct manufacturers. Although the customer identified a lower-cost supplier through its sourcing office in China, a Taiwan country of origin (COO) remained a key requirement to minimize import duties for the U.S. market.
