Well, what do you know, another SimplePlus product has been added to our portfolio! Hot on the heels of the muscular new 7” SimplePlus, we have added a new and pleasingly low-cost 5” display.

A gamechanger? Well, yes. In our world of displays, it can be tempting to announce every new innovation with a huge fanfare and excitement. But the 23.1" Stretched In-Cell Monitor is genuinely going to be a huge deal for so many of our customers.

Our customers love the 7” SimplePlus. Why? Because it’s a great display that gets the job done, balancing cost and performance without cutting corners. So, it wasn’t long before we were asked to make it a little… tougher, for use outdoors. As ever, your wish is our command.

It only feels like a few minutes ago that we shared the news of our MipiPlus 7”, 7.8” and 4” products, but already we have another addition to offer. It’s a testament not only to the popularity of MipiPlus, but the speed at which we are able to launch new tested and proven variations into our portfolio – especially one with an interface as challenging to integrate as MIPI.

When we speak to our customers about MIPI Display products, they all agree that it’s a great interface that comes with some implementation challenges. However, working with Avnet Embedded means that they have a partner with plenty of experience in integrating MIPI into a range of industrial and medical products and our portfolio just keeps growing.

We knew the launch of MipiPlus in February would be popular, but we’ve had such a great response to the 7.84” size that we’re now adding the 7” (17.78 cm) screen size to our portfolio. Integrating MIPI display products can be a complex process, but our significant experience in the field has given plenty of customers confidence to partner with Avnet Embedded for the journey.

Display products with MIPI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface) had previously been limited to purely high-volume consumer products, most notably smart phones. Recently, however, there has been a steady increase of MIPI products across industrial and medical applications and this has created more room for them mainly in handheld applications and sizes due to lower power requirements.
